Specifications 27.40.39-004-28320930-2018
The obstruction lights ZOS-A
are innovative and high quality aviation omnidirectional
view light-signal devices intended for light twilight marking of high objects
fully complying with ICAO.
The medium intensity
obstruction lights ZOS were designed using the innovative experience of the
leading world manufacturers of this type of aviation light-signal equipment.
The team of our engineers set up the target to provide the clients with the most efficient
solution in terms of the modern and reliable equipment, which meets all
expectations and needs as well as complies with the international and national
regulation requirements and in quality and performance capabilities competes with
the best western counterparts.
Quality control at all obstruction light ZOS-A production stages is
carried out strictly in accordance with Specifications 27.40.39-004-28320930-2018, which enables to significantly decrease claims.
Function objective:
The medium intensity
obstruction lights ZOS-A, type A, 20000cd are intended for high objects (obstructions) light marking, which pose
dangers for air transport (high buildings and constructions, stacks, relay
mobile communication masts, tower cranes, bridge pylons, any buildings in the
vicinity of airfields).
The unique
performance features of the
medium intensity obstruction lights:
The obstruction lights
operation and control is carried out over the communication line via RS-485
interface.
RS-485 is a physical level
standard for the asynchronous interface which regulates electrical parameters
of semi-duplex multipoint differential communication line, common bus type.
The reception and transmission in the bus is made asynchronously over UART
in a semi-duplex mode with bit parity check.
The universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART) is a computing node
intended for setting up communication with other digital devices. It transforms
the transmitted data into a successive type, so as it can be transmitted over one
physical digital line to the other similar device.
Each obstruction light has a unique address, which is assigned in 1-100000
range. The address is assigned to the obstruction light by the manufacturer and
remains the same during its operation. A
user cannot change the address (serial number) of the obstruction light.
· The unique optical unit
provides compliance with ICAO and FAR requirements.
· The aluminum body with
powerful radiator provides excellent heat removal.
· Vandal-proof design.
· Cree LEDs guarantee long
service life.
· Practically, it does not
require any maintenance.
· The service life is higher
than that of the counterparts with a xenon light source.
· Lower power consumption
compared to xenon counterparts, which provides safety for the specialists who
mount them.
· Long-term cost-effective
operation.
Solution advantages:
· The obstruction lights ZOS-A
are used as a separate unit or in the combination with the other lights.
· The built-in status monitoring
system enables to control the operation remotely not only of the whole obstruction
lights combination, but also a separate light.
· The status monitoring system
of the obstruction lights in accordance with the standard ANSI TIA/EIA-485-A:1998, Electrical Characteristics of
Generators and Receivers for Use in Balanced Digital Multipoint Systems.
· The obstruction
lights flash synchronization with GPS.
Compliance with standards and
requirements:
· Order of Ministry of
Transport, Russian Federation, ¹262 dated August 25, 2015).
· ICAO Annex 14, 6th
Edition.
· ICAO medium
intensity, type À.
Specifications:
The aviation obstruction lights specifications (aviation light-signal
devices), white flashing lighting, fully comply with ICAO and FAR requirements
for the medium
intensity obstruction lights, type A, mounted on stationary objects.
· Climatic class: UHL1,GOST
15150 (All-Union State Standard);
· Protection
class: IP65, GOST 14254 (All-Union State
Standard);
· The light filter:
transparent, color-free of shockproof polycarbonate with UV-stabilizer;
· Body material: aluminum
(ACo-12M alloy);
· Weight: no more 5,0kg.
Electrical specifications:
· Input power voltage, U(in):46-48V DC;
· Maximum safe input
power voltage, U(in) max:49V DC;
· Input current DC,
I(in). (mÀ): 100 (pause), 4000 (flash 60 fpm);
· Maximum power
consumption, no more (W): 160.
Connection order:
The power, ground and control contacts are shown in figure 3.
The 46-48 V, DC, power cables (the polarity is mandatory) are connected to contacts
+ and - (see fig. 3).
The control and operation cables are connected to contacts “CONTROL”: where
A and B are a control bus (twisted pair, RS 485 interface), which operates in
the asynchronous semi-duplex mode. It provides commands reception and data
transmission about light technical status; G- common cable; T- synchronization
signal output.
In
order to avoid short circuit, the cables A and B must not come into contact
with each other as well as with the common cable G. To avoid conflict
situations in the control line, the cables must be correctly connected to
contacts A and B.
The ground wire is installed by the manufacturer and has an outlet on the
obstruction light body.
The obstruction lights in the system operate according to the setup
synchronization algorithm and technical parameters monitoring control.
The ground is connected to the central output. Wire cross-section is
selected according to current consumption and it must not bigger than
connectors 2,5 mm² size.

Main mounting and
operation requirements:
The obstruction lights ZOS-A are mounted by a holder (a base stand) with
outer G ¾” thread. The mounting base stands are installed on top of high
objects (roofs, etc.), subject to light obstruction.
A stationary LED module is a light source in the obstructions lights
ZOS-A, which do not require any service and replacement for the entire period
of its operation.
So as to connect power and monitoring cables, you should unscrew the top
part of the obstruction light (the light filter) from its base and then get
them connected. While assembling the obstruction light, make sure that the
rubber seal is tightly seated. You should brush the light filter with clean
cotton, soft flannel or suede leather without using any solvent or grinding
materials, if it gets dirty. Finally, you should clean it with spirits-soaked
cotton.
Packaging:
The obstruction lights packaging according to
GOST 23216 (All-Union State Standard) for storage conditions 2 (s) GOST 15150 (All-Union State Standard). The lights ZOS-A are packed in a shipping
container, which secures safety and protection from any mechanical damage and
atmospheric precipitation.
Labor safety
rules:
To provide safety operating the obstruction light ZOS-A, it is prohibited:
· To replace the lamp
for the light source with lower light intensity value;
· To carry out any
operations with the obstruction lights with power on;
· To assemble or
operate the obstruction light with damaged insulation;
· To assemble and
operate the obstruction lights, it is required to follow PUE (Electrical
Equipment
Rules).
Data about claims:
The claims are made to the supplier in case any defects and malfunctions
can be found, which leads to the obstruction lights ZOS-A breakdown before the warranty
period expires.
You should state in the claim report:
The obstruction light type, defects and malfunctions, conditions under
which they were found, the equipment operation time. The copy of the payment
document for the device must be attached to the report.
Manufacturer
warranty:
The company guarantees 2-year non-failure device operation, if all
operation rules are observed.
